Campers' health and safety is our primary concern. Nurturing, well-trained staffs provide excellent care. We're enthusiastic about selecting top quality direct care staff with a primary dedication to make a positive difference in the quality of our campers' lives. Majors in the following fields represent students with a commitment to enhance the development of our campers: Psychology, Special Education, General Education, Social Work, Speech Therapy, Language Development, Reading Specialist, Music, Dance and Art Therapy, Occupational, Physical and Recreation Therapy; other majors are considered. Interviews are conducted after we receive your staff application. We assemble a dynamic and versatile staff community to enrich a child's stay at camp. Professionals in camping and related fields of education and therapy services train counselors in an informative one-week pre-camp orientation. Camper files are studied by counselors to help them prepare to address the social, emotional and behavioral needs of each camper in their group, which leads to a fun-filled and meaningful summer.Bunk counselors attend all programs with their campers, sleep in the same cabin with them and sit together with their campers during meals, providing 24-hour supervision.
Counselor to camper ratio is 1:3. Extra supervision may be assessed based on a camper's needs and involves extra weekly charges for additional staff salary fees.
Members of various psychological and medical specialties serve as consultants to the camp in meeting specific needs of our campers and staff.
All staff, American and International, are carefully screened before their acceptance at camp.
Internship Program:
Staff can earn college credit by working under the supervision of our certified professionals. This program is coordinated with your college advisor.
Important Staff Dates:
Orientation Begins: June 14th, Saturday, 1pm check-in
Campers Arrive: June 22nd, Sunday, check-in: 2:30-4:30pm
Camp Main Session Ends: August 23rd, Saturday. Salary is pro-rated for departure earlier than 10 weeks. If you require an earlier departure date, please discuss that during your interview. (If you are hired through an international staff agency that assigns a salary for 9 weeks, you will be paid extra for additional days worked beyond your contract).
Support staff end date: August 27th, Wednesday.
